Refresh your face
with a PDO thread lift.

Collagen and elastin are essential proteins that play a crucial role in maintaining skin’s firmness. As we age, production of these proteins slows down, leading to sagging skin and the emergence of wrinkles. If you are seeking a non-surgical procedure to lift and refresh your face, consider a PDO thread lift.

Enjoy an immediate result.

Using sutures made of polydioxanone (or PDO), a safe and biocompatible material that stimulates collagen production, a thread lift restores skin’s firmness and elasticity, offering an instant lifting result. The procedure involves minimal pain and minimal downtime, and results can be seen immediately. Rediscover your youth in as little as one hour, and for up to one year!

Lift and tighten sagging tissue.

There are two types of threads: lifting threads and smooth threads.

Lifting threads are PDO sutures with barbs that anchor onto tissue. Once secured, the threads are pulled to lift, reposition and lock the tissue in place, thus tightening and contouring your features. Threading creates supportive scaffolding underneath the epidermal and dermal skin layers.

Smooth threads are PDO threads without the lifting barbs, that help to improve skin texture, elasticity, volume and fine lines. Smooth threads are shorter and thinner, and are placed more superficially underneath the skin. As sutures dissolve, the polydioxanone stimulates collagen to build volume and tighten the skin.

Frequently asked.

  • Threads are made of polydioxanone (PDO), derived from a complex sugar. PDO is a synthetic, biodegradable polymer that’s been used in medical applications for over 30 years. It’s a type of suture material commonly used for closing wounds and surgical incisions because it’s absorbable by the body over time.

  • A complimentary consultation with our injection nurse will determine if you are an ideal candidate for a threading procedure. Your specific concerns and desired outcomes will be discussed, and a personalized treatment plan will be designed for and shared with you.

  • The cost of threading depends on a patient’s unique anatomy and the number of lifting and/or smooth threads that are used. A price will be shared with you during your complimentary consultation with our injection nurse.

  • After your PDO thread lift, you may immediately resume your daily activities. More intense activities such as exercise can be resumed after one week in most cases.

  • Common side effects may include soreness, minor bruising, swelling and mild discomfort.

  • Thread lifts are a minimally invasive and non-surgical cosmetic procedure that typically take an hour to complete, and results can be noticeable right away. Patients typically experience little pain and minimal scarring, with results improving gradually as swelling, redness and bruising subside over time.

  • After your PDO thread lift, the sutures are absorbed by the body in six to eight months, but the benefits can last for up to one year because of the resulting collagen production and neovascularization in the skin. The degree of sagging, skin thickness and facial structure of each patient will affect the outcome of treatment.

  • Yes. Because the threads are completely absorbable, you can undergo more PDO thread lifts to continue enjoying the benefits over an extended period.

  • For patients with significantly sagging skin and tissue, a facelift may be an ideal long-term solution, provided the investment is affordable and the necessary recovery time is doable. A facelift can produce a dramatic transformation that can last up to a decade.

PDO threads can be an alternative for those seeking to lift and tighten their skin through a minimally invasive procedure that avoids the need for extensive surgery, and at a lower cost than a facelift. The results of PDO threads are immediate and natural looking, with minimal downtime and minimal trauma.
